He is "Normal"

Well, Wesley had an "official" developmental screening the other day. Overall, he was deemed to be "normal". Not in our eyes. He is "special". ha Anyway, he was tested on the normal things like stacking cubes, putting an object in another object, speaking words, walking, stopping, running, and on and on. He passed all of these, but received fails on stacking a tower of 6 cubes. OK, how many kids 15 months old are going to have the patience to stack 6 cubes without wanting to knock them over at 2 or 3? He also failed imitating drawing a vertical line. Sure, tell Wesley to draw a vertical line and I'm sure he will respond by saying . . . OK, how long would you like that vertical line? Come on, the kid is getting used to holding a pencil much less drawing vertical lines. Next, he failed jumping. Obviously, they haven't seen him at home jumping off of the ottoman's or the changing table. He is quite good at that, but, he has problems remembering that someone should be there to catch him first. ha Lastly, he failed throwing overhand. Erick said they should have given him a fork or sippy cup or food, not a ball. haha If they would have observed him at dinnertime, they would definately see that he can throw quite well overhand. As a matter of fact, it can go about 6 feet and he can hit targets too. Hmmf, can't throw overhand. So, he was not determined to be "exceptional" or "outstanding", but just plain "normal". If he is "normal", I'll take "normal" because he is just right to me.
