Wesley's Great Adventures

Well, I'm a little behind. There has been too much going on in the last few weeks. Grandma and Grandpa did come to visit and we all had a good time. Wesley got alot of extra attention and remembered Grandma and Grandpa fairly quickly. In fact, the first morning they were here Erick had already left for work before Wesley woke up. For some reason, I did not hear Wesley wake up (I was still sleeping and the monitor had shut off). Grandma and Grandpa went in and got Wesley up when he cried, and, from what I understand, he took to them and let them get him up.

Anyway, during the visit we all went to the St. Louis Zoo. Poor Wesley woke up the day we left with an eye infection, and the day we actually went to the zoo it had spread to both eyes. So, I know he felt miserable, but he took everything in and seemed to enjoy the animals. His favorites seemed to be the bird house (he had just learned birds), the penguins, the bears, and the giraffes. We also went to the sea lion show and he sat still through the entire thing and watched. Of course, the moment he saw the ball the sea lions were playing with he yelled "BALL". We all enjoyed seeing him interact and react to the animals. He actually made it until about 5 pm without a nap (he usually takes a 3 hour nap during the day). I guess he didn't want to miss anything, so when we go through almost everything he zonked out.

You'll be able to see from the pictures that it was hard to get any pics of him facing us because he was so interested in the animals. So, it kind of became a theme of Wesley's head in the picture instead of his face.
