A Few Laughs

We were out running errands yesterday and Wesley was being such a goof-ball. Not only did he keep us entertained all day, but made us break out laughing a couple times. First, we were trying to get him in his car seat. Well, he didn't want to ride in there and forced his way up and went over to the back seat passengers seat. Before we knew it, he was sitting in the seat with the seat belt on. I guess he watches us more than we realize to know how to do the seatbelt. Next, after running some errands, we needed to get something to eat before running some more. We sat and waited almost an hour to get our food. Erick and I were complaining about the food taking so long and the next thing we know Wesley is trying to get up out of his seat and said "Me cook!!". I felt like taking him over to the kitchen and asking if they needed a little help. Next, we finally got our food. Part of Wesley's meal was carrot and celery sticks. Instead of eating them, he had to rearrange his food first. He took all of them and designed them carefully and then said "Did it.". He has been doing this lately, having to design his plate of food. I have to say though, his plates of food do come out looking pretty good. Is this a chef in the making? Lastly, Wesley has been into the Olympics and has especially has been into Michael Phelps and swimming. He was watching with me one night during an important race and I pointed out to cheer for Michael. Ever since, he has wanted to watch "Michael swim". I only showed Michael Phelps to him once on the TV and from that point out, he recognized him. We came home last night before the final race for "Michael", but he wasn't swimming yet. The women's marathon was going on. I tried to get him to understand that Michael wasn't swimming yet. He got upset and pointed at the TV and said "don't want it. . . Michael swim". This is his way of refusing or protesting what he doesn't want. Finally, Michael was getting ready to swim and he was happy. He clapped and cheered like the rest of us. "Go Michael!!!!"

My mom and dad were in town and watched the kids last night, and Mom asked Abigail if she wanted to watch the Olympics. She was very excited, until it was the marathon on TV, to which she announced "this is boring!"
