It Has Been Quite a Week

Oh, what a time it has been the last week. Last Wednesday, the 11th, Wesley was not feeling good. He threw up and had horrible diarrhea all day long. I think I was changing super full diapers and his clothes about every 30 minutes because he was making horrible messes that could not be contained within his diaper. I think we went through a pack of diapers and wipes that day, plus a few showers and baths. Tuesday of this week, Erick got home from work as I was leaving for work. Erick stated that he hadn't felt good all night at work. I commented that I woke up feeling nauseous, but just wrote it off to not having slept good the night before. I went on to work and about 2 hours into work I started get diarrhea really bad and started feeling achy and had a lump in my throat. I knew this was the start of a bad day, for I have been very familiar with this feeling this past year. In fact, this was the fourth time I have had the stomach flu since the beginning of the year. I left work to barely make it home (30 minute drive) to hit the bathroom for some more diarrhea and prayer to the porcelain gods. I guess in the meantime while I had been at work, Erick had been doing the same. So, for the rest of the day, we spent the day in bed together. It had been a while since we had spent time together, alone, without Wesley. Erick commented and asked when the last time was that this had happened. I said "The last time we both had the stomach flu together." What lovely dates we have, huh? We were both so weak and feeling so yucky that I had to call my parents to pick up Wesley for us. They told us that they would keep him for the night so we could get to feeling better. . . unless he started getting sick. Not because they don't want to take care of a sick child, but, because my mom can't risk getting too sick. Anyway, at about 9 pm we get a call that Wesley had thrown up all over their bed. I'm just glad by that time we had started feeling a little better. . . and we were both having Wesley withdrawls so we didn't mind them bringing him back home. The three of us are recooperating now, but, unfortunately, everyone at my parent's house is now sick. Sorry guys, we didn't mean to get everyone there sick too. Hopefully next week will be a better one.
