Moooooooooooooooooo
Well, Wesley seems to be growing like a weed and getting smarter by the minute (I'm his mommy, I can think he is the smartest kid around.......right). :) In all of this absorption of knowledge, we have been trying to totally saturate his brain with info. It seems like the more we give him the more he is learning, almost so hard we can't keep up. I've been reading a minimum of 10 books to him a day (that is 10 books, not 10 stories. I won't count how many times we reread the same book) and Daddy reads his share also. I point out everything that is on the pages. . . this is a dog, this is a frog, this is a flower, etc., etc. Along with the animals, Wesley gets the joy of listening to Mommy moooooo like a cow, or oink like a pig, or bark like a dog, and the list goes on. I have to say, this procedure worked with Keto the dog when I was training him. He can't mooooooo like a cow, but I did teach him to speak on command or roll over by him following my lead. I'm just glad nobody saw me through all of this. From all of this, so far, Wesley has learned to moooooooooooo, oink, roof. . roof, and eeeeeeeeee (horse) upon asking him what that particular animal says. In oinking, he sounds like he is coughing because he hasn't quite figured out he has to suck in to make the sound, and eeeeeeeeeeeing, he sounds like he is giggling, but I know this is his sound for a horse. I was sitting going through the Richard Scarry book of words with him. Anyone who is familiar with this book knows there are normally at least 30 different pictures with words on a page. I started asking him if he could find the fish........he looked around on the pages and a few seconds later pointed to the fish. He did this with the frog, the turtle, the dog, the cat, and the bird. I knew I had been teaching him all of this stuff, but, I was proud when he was able to find them among all the other pictures on the pages. We have been quite amazed at how much he is picking up.........alot more than we even realize I'm sure.
