What is Wesley Up To?

Can I say everything? Time is flying by and I can't believe that Wesley is already 2 years old. His speech is really picking up and he is wanting to know what everything is so he can pronounce is too. We were going through the condiments the other night at the dinner table because he was pointing asking for something and we weren't sure what. We said ketchup, mustard, relish, mayonnaise. . . and he pointed and said mayonnaise. It was really clear. We also went through the entire alphabet and he was pronouncing every letter with pretty good clarity. He had problems with a few, but, overall, he did well. Daycare says he can say the alphabet on his own, but, we have yet to hear it at home that way. He is also becoming more intrigued with things and how they work. He loves playing blocks and stacking towers. He sat for over an hour yesterday and played blocks. . . we were amazed. As he always has, he loves books. He is now taking the books and pretending to read them himself. He will sit and point to things on the page and say things and turn the pages. It is cute. We have also been practicing soccer. (Not really with the point of learning it in mind, but just as something to do) He has been running across the yard kicking the ball and running some more and kicking it farther. (His Aunt Nikki would be proud) Of course, he has missed the ball a few times and rolled on top of it and plopped on his butt. He thought that was great though. Lastly, we finally got his new fish tank set up. It doesn't have fish yet, but he thought the bubbles in it were great. He was so excited yesterday with it, he was yelling and jumping around trying to look in the tank. (The cat was quite intrigued too, I caught him standing on his hind legs peering through the glass) I guess a couple of the sweetest things he has done lately was worrying about me. I had the stomach flu recently and was lying in bed and he came in with his doctor bag to check me out and give me a band-aid. The sweetest was the other day, I got home late from a doctors appointment out of town (so I had already eaten supper) and he sat down to eat right after I got home. He couldn't figure out why I wasn't eating and was sitting on the couch. He ate a little bit and then offered the rest to me. He kept saying "Mommy, eat. Mommy, bite." He really looked worried that I didn't have any food and got really upset (not pitching a fit upset, but sad upset) when I didn't eat anything and told him I was ok. So, I had to be the good Mommy and go and eat some more food so he would feel better. He takes good care of me!!!

That's quite an update! Sounds like ya'll have been super busy. I'm so glad nothing was wrong (I'd gotten a little worried). Wesley is turning into such a handsome little guy!
