The Case of the Missing Chocolate

We have a mystery to solve. Tonight, some of the chocolate brownie mix went missing. I walked into the kitchen to grab a dish to put the mix in and came back and it was gone. Some may say that anyone could have eaten it, for it is known that eating brownie and cake batter is a bad habit of most. There was no chocolate trail, no clues. . . except for one. What do you think, is this the culprit? Do you think he is guilty? It sure would be hard to convict this cute, innocent looking little boy.

We have been having cooking nights. Wesley has been helping me to pour in the ingredients, mix the ingredients, and watch the ingredients cook. . . oh, and almost forgot. . . eat the ingredients and the finished products. Tonight, I told him he could help me cook if he cleaned up all his toys. Well, for about an hour he refused. So, I started without him and told him he couldn't help me until he cleaned up his toys. I know he didn't like this, even though he acted like he didn't care. He drew some, played, and then, finally, decided to pick up his toys. Although it was his fault at the time, I felt bad because by the time he finished cleaning up I had pretty much finished the pie I was making for my parents and nephews. The only thing that was left was a little batter that didn't fit in the pie pan. Hmmm, what can I do to let Wesley help a little. (Lightbulb!!!!!!) I pulled a couple of tiny tart pans out of the cabinet and figured what was left would fit in those. I pulled out the box of vanilla wafers for the crust, grabbed the remainder of the mix, and let Wesley do the rest. We placed the vanilla wafers on the bottom as crust and then poured the batter on top. Perfect, it all fit in. We then cooked them and sat and shared one of his Coconut Custard Vanilla Wafer Tarts. He must of liked it, for he kept saying "Yummy. Mmmmmmmm." I must say, I liked the vanilla wafer crust better than the regular crust. I'll have to keep that in mind.

You're probably wondering why the picture at the top is brownie mix though. After we put together the tarts, Wesley kept saying "cook, cook, cook" and wanted to cook some more. Like I said before, although it was his fault for not putting away his toys when I asked, he did put them away all by himself so I wanted to reward him a little by letting him "cook" (use the spoon to mix) something. So, we made some brownies to keep at home since the pie wasn't going to be eaten by us. As you can see from the picture, he thoroughly enjoyed eating. . .um, I mean "cooking" those.
