I Hope This Makes You Feel Better Mommy
Wesley was so loving, caring, and sweet yesterday. We both had to go to the doctor. Me, I had a fever, chills, a swollen throat full of blisters (barely had a hole the size of a pencil eraser left), earache, and headache. Wesley got called home from daycare with a fever and they said he was holding his head screaming. Ends up, I had the flu (3rd time this year) and "the worst case of pharyngitis" the doctor had ever seen and Wesley had an ear infection. I had to do the pull your pants down and lie on the table routine so I could get 3 antibiotic shots in my rear. Wesley was so sweet, he crawled up and gave me a kiss on my leg and then came up towards my head and said boo-boo and held my hand when they were giving me the shots. He helped the nurse by holding the band-aids and handing them to her when she needed them. When band-aids come up, he knows something is serious and that band-aids will cure all (haha) . . . at least for him they will. When it was his turn to be checked, he climbed right up on the table and sat there like a little angel. The nurse checked him (ears, nose, pulse) and he sat so still. When the doctor came in, he felt he needed to lie down. He laid down for her to check his chest and throat and was so good. It was funny, when they were done with the check-up and were walking out the door, he just casually says "bye-bye" and goes about his business. I think he won their hearts, because he got 2 toy cars, not one like all the other little kids, when he was done. I do have to admit, I was extremely gracious he was so good because I did not have the energy to do much with him yesterday. Thankfully I feel a little better today and could come to work (while looking forward to a 3 day weekend to recuperate).
